Salisbury Central School

Veterans are people who served in the military (U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard) in times of war or peace.

Principal, Mr. Chris Butwill shakes hands with Mr. Joseph Murphy before the start of our afternoon assembly on November 6, 2007. Mr. Murphy served in the Navy during World War II. Mrs. Chris Werner, sitting on Mr. Murphy's right, is also a U.S. Navy veteran. Mrs. Werner is now a SCS middle school mathematics teacher.

On Veterans Day we thank and honor those who served in the military. Veterans Day is observed on November 11th of each year. This day was once called Armistice Day. Mrs. Conklin, a first grade teacher, is with her grandfather Mr. Frank Winters and her father Mr. Gerald Baldwin. Mr. Winters and Mr. Baldwin are both veterans.
Veterans have given much to keep us safe and free. Each veteran told the students his/her name, branch of service, and years of service to our country. In this photo Mrs. Donna Begley is seated on the far right next to her father, Mr. Wayne Neville. Mr. Gerald Baldwin speaks to the assembled students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
