SOAR

an endowed fund of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation

The Salisbury Central School (SCS) Educational Enrichment Fund organizes and funds affordable, diverse, and quality educational opportunities for the children of Salisbury.  Held under the acronym SOAR, Seek Originate Aspire Reach, programs promote self-discovery, the awakening of new interests, and a love affair with learning.

SOAR is an integral part of the SCS community. It provides 30 after-school workshops; an annual winter drama; grants to teachers for new and innovative curriculum; in-school assemblies; and a quiz bowl night.

Over 60% of first through eighth graders participate in one or more after-school programs each year, assemblies are school-wide, and grants are grade specific.  The winter drama and SOAR Bowl are open to the public.

SOAR/SCS Enrichment Fund is privately funded; it receives no government or public funding.
