Baseball and Softball Highlights

The Salisbury Central Girls Softball Team won their 2nd game of the year with a 22-11 win over Cornwall. It was a total team effort as Cornwall led by a 5-1 score early in the game. However, the SCS bats came alive as the girls put the game away with 5 runs in the third inning and 4 runs in the fifth inning. Twelve of the thirteen girls scored for SCS with Veronica and Pilar scoring 4 times each. Great defensive plays were made by Pilar, Veronica, Amanda , and Michaela who also pitched the complete game. Additionally, a Cornwall runner was thrown out at home on a relay throw from Desiree to Veronica to Hannah who put the tag o the runner at home. Great job ladies.

Both baseball and softball teams are beginning practice, preparing for the upcoming spring season. Their first game will be on Monday, April 21st, when the Salisbury Red Hawks will play Falls Village. Please check the schedule for times and locations. Note: There will be NO practice over spring break.

Interscholastic athletics at Salisbury Central School provide opportunities for those students who choose to pursue a higher level of performance and competition in a specific sport. Coaches must meet certification requirements in instruction, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and standard first aid. Because of these factors, students are expected to maintain acceptable levels of commitment and sportsmanship. Attendance at practices and games is mandatory, except for situations prearranged with a coach.

Salisbury Central teams play all the schools in Regional School District #1 plus any other teams as may be scheduled. School teams have traditionally included only seventh and eighth grade students. Under certain unusual circumstances, teams may be opened to participation by sixth graders.
