The WQQQ radio station
is located in Lakeville, Connecticut. The radio station is in the old
historic railroad station. Because it is a radio station its job is
to send all kinds of information over the airwaves to people in their
homes, cars, or at work.
Q103 has all kinds of different programs. You can listen to music, news,
announcements for fundraisers, advertising, and messages about school
closings. Mr. Joe Loverro, who I interviewed for this article, is the
manager of the station. It is his job to send all these programs over
the air.
There is a lot of equipment at the radio station that makes it possible
for us to hear the programs on the air. Computers, touch video screens,
and high tech sound systems in the hands of Mr. Loverro run the programming.
This includes a system for automatically shutting off the programs to
allow for news in an emergency to reach the people.
For ten years Q103 has been on the air and bringing us all kinds of
programs. They provide an important service to our community. So turn
