Town Hall

by Leah

Our Town Hall is the place where a lot of our town business is conducted. It is on Main Street in Salisbury and it is open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, or whenever there is a meeting or voting.

There are many different jobs at the Town Hall and many people have their offices there. If you go there, you might see our First Selectman, Mr. Bernardoni, who let me interview him for this article. Yo might also see our other two selectmen, a probate judge, our building inspector, the coordinator of our seniors, the tax collector, someone from the planning and zoning commission, the registrar of voters, our town sanitarian, the town assessor, the fire marshal, the town clerk, our resident trooper, or one of our four secretaries. It is a very busy place!

People go to the Town Hall from many reasons. Some go to see the trooper, look a records, get different licenses or permits, apply for passports, pay taxes, and get answers to problems.

There are also different meetings at the town hall. These meetings might be held to make decisions, to make laws, or to hear people's opinions about a town topic.

The Town Hall seems like a great, friendly place. Be sure to stop in if you ever need help with anything and someone can direct you to the right person.
