Do you know of someone,
maybe a friend or neighbor, who is in need? You might suggest that they
consider contacting Salisbury Family Services (SFS). The goal of Salisbury
Family Services is to help people help themselves. SFS has a part time
social worker, Patrice McGrath, who helps people find solutions for their
problems.
Salisbury Family Services helps families and individuals that live in
our community. It helps people with money problems, medical problems,
food problems, and housing problems. It provides counseling as well as
transportation, housing, fuel, and food assistance. SFS also refers people
to other agencies or organizations that can help them.
To work at SFS you need experience working with State, Local and Federal
agencies that can help people. You have to be willing to help all kinds
of people and to try to help them solve all kinds of problems. You also
have to be a good listener. Mrs. McGrath will see people in her office
but if they cannot get to her office, she will go to their homes.
The people living in our community support SFS by giving money, providing
gifts and donating their time as volunteers. That is one of the reasons
Salisbury is such a nice place to live.
Salisbury Family Services is located on Salmon Kill Road near the Housatonic
Day Care. It is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to
3:00 p.m. You can call Patrice McGrath at 435-5187 or stop by her office.
All visits will remain private. Her office is a warm place and Ms. McGrath
is a friendly social worker.
