Salisbury KettleSalisbury is the only town that I know of that has a kettle. Did you know that there were three kettles? The first one stood in the middle of Mt. Riga Road, built in the late 1700's. It was made out of iron. The second kettle was made in 1908 out of limestone. It was moved closer to the Town Hall in 1966. The third kettle was made in 1998. It was made from granite. The water came originally from a spring. Now it comes from the town's water system. Back |
