Kate Murray will e-mail teachers to see if they are planning to attend and could lend a hand.

Funding Requests:

Updates from October: Teachers in the Middle School and in Grade 4 were awarded the grants for which they applied in October. They explained that they did not have the titles during last year's budget planning period and therefore the money was not in the school budget.

Mrs. Allyn: When school began in September, two classes had 100% of their students turn in their Summer Reading Program forms. Mrs. Allyn had requested a $50.00 award for each class so that the teacher could purchase books. There was discussion about the purpose of the additional award. Questions arose about the incentive that it would provide. It was suggested that the students might benefit from knowing about this extra award at he start of the program so that they can work towards earning it for their next year's class.

Mr. Conklin: Mr. John Conklin, science teacher in the middle school, asked about a projector that works in conjunction with a laptop. He will fill out a formal request for a PTO grant as soon as he has the details.

Third Grade Team: The third grade team asked for $74.00 to purchase Model Magic which they use in their classrooms. The grant was approved.

Cub Scouts Renewal: It was reported by a parent that the Cub Scouts are being chartered by the Lakeville Methodist Church. There is a Tiger and a Wolf group. There was discussion about whether or not the district Cub Scout leader was planning to come to the school and talk to the children about joining. Kathy Wiggins, Cub Master, will be contacted to clarify.

Lunch Menu: Julie Kremer read the current lunch menu. It was mentioned that the current menu did not seem to be as healthy as previous offerings. Mr. Butwill noted that the Board of Education had discussed looking at he lunch program to see what options were available. Amy Lake explained that several PTO members worked to gather information concerning lunch programs and wondered where that information was. The PTO officers will locate the information so that it can be used to help Salisbury Central School look for ways to support the most nutritious lunch program we can offer.

Other:
