Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration occurred earlier this year. The PTO is thankful for the many new parent volunteers that hosted the kindergarten registration .
Funding Requests:
Mrs. Mayland applied for a grant to purchase Inch Worm Rulers. These rulers are used in conjunction with the Inch Worm manipulatives that students currently use in the lower grades. Each ruler cost approximately $1.00. Members requested that the number of rulers purchased was equal to or greater than the enrollment of the current kindergarten class. This grant was approved.
Grade 3 requested funding for additional T-Shirts for their trip to NY. The group wears matching T-Shirts during their full-day trip. This grant was approved as well.
Teacher Appreciation Lunch
Weezy Fallon volunteered to coordinate the lunch this year. The lunch is usually held during teacher appreciation week – sometime in the beginning of May. We work around other scheduled events such as Nature’s Classroom. Dana Scarpa offered her help and advise based upon how she coordinated last year’s lunch.

Milk Update; cookbook
Tracy Kaufman emailed Roger Rawlings about the milk issue. Thankfully, the milk we do offer is hormone-free. They are researching different containers that will allow soy milk to be offered as well. The Salisbury Central School Cookbook was proposed at a previous meeting. June would be the best time to order the books so that they are available to sell in the fall and at the book fair. Notices should go out in May so that we can collect the recipes. There is an online site where volunteers can type their recipes.
Healthy Recipes for the Website
The board was interested in having some healthy recipes posted on our website in order to promote health and wellness. There was a discussion about the cookbook recipes and how we can integrate the 2 ideas.
Bus Policy
There will be a trial period for our new bus policy. Students will be able to ride the bus to other students’ houses during this period. Parents need to write a note requesting that their child be able to ride a particular bus.
