The Starfall learn-to-read program was created to meet the needs of the emergent reader by incorporating rhyming games and high-interest books that teach phonemic awareness (sounds in words), phonics, decoding skills, and comprehension. The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden
This zoo has an extensive field guide (drawings not photos) of each group of vertebrates.

This is the home page for the wildlife conservation society with links to the Bronx Zoo.

The Denver Zoo
This has extensive lists of animals in each vertebrate group. Most do not have photos available at this time but this site is still worth visiting.

The New England Aquarium
This is the home page for the New England Aquarium. Your family can take a virtual tour of some of this aquarium's exhibits. There is also information about visiting this great location in downtown Boston.

This is the home page for the Mystic Aquarium. At this site there are many great facts and photos of aquatic animals. You can also get information about visiting this Connecticut treasure.
