Information
Salisbury Central School will be holding its 8th Annual Academic Fair on Wednesday, April 2, 2008. Here are some of
the details:
Who: All
students in Pre-K through 8th grade may participate. Participation is encouraged,
but strictly optional.
What: A
view of student learning in the form of demonstrations and displays
Where: At Salisbury Central School
When: Wednesday April 2, from 6:30-8:00
PM
How: Any student who has an idea and
would like to present a project may do so. Students may work individually
or in groups, with family members or with friends. Maybe it will be a
map of the routes of a favorite explorer, or a chart tracking weather over
a period of time and then comparing it to previous years, or a collection
of poetry, or a dinosaur diorama built to scale, or an original
story with original illustrations, or a clay sculpture, or a demonstration
on how an elevator works. The only requirement is that the project demonstrates some form of learning beyond the classroom. The projects will be worked on outside of
school, with periodic progress reports due to the homeroom teacher at scheduled
times.
Why: This fair is a wonderful opportunity to explore an area of interest on their own
with a forum for a public showing, as well as to bring together our school
community for an evening of learning and fun.
If your child is interested in participating in the Academic Fair, please return the proposal form to school by Monday, January 28th. Progress forms will then be sent home with students choosing to participate. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact your child's
homeroom teacher or Jennifer Law, our Academic Fair Coordinator.
