Mrs. Lundeen introduces the book Scary, Scary, Halloween to Salisbury Central School's kindergarten through 5th grade students before she starts reading to the children.
Mrs. Walsh and Mrs. Lundeen take turns reading the story.
A vampire and a werewolf prowl. One growls a growl, one howls a howl, in praise of Halloween.

Mrs. Fails read the book,The Monster Bed by Jeanne Willis. Young Dennis was a very polite monster. He tried very hard not to bellow and bit. But one night he bellowed, "I won't go to bed! I'm frightened! His mother said, "Why? There's no reason for fright. I'll give you your bear. I won't turn off the light." "The humans will get me," cried Dennis. "They'll creep under my monster bed while I'm asleep. "Oh, no dear," his mother replied. "That can't be. Humans are only in stories, you see. Because they're not real, they won't trouble your rest. Get into bed now, dear. Mama knows best."

Ms. Law explains to the children what UNICEF is and how our school can help other children by collecting money for UNICEF while they are out Trick or Treating. UNICEF is short for the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund. UNICEF was established on December 11, 1946 by the United Nations to meet the emergency needs of children in post-war Europe and China. In 1950, its goals were broadened to address the long-term needs of women and children in developing countries everywhere.
