![]() Friday, January 25 was "Show Your School Spirit - Hat and Boot Day." |
In keeping with the theme of the spirit day the third grade teachers read Aunt Flossie's Hats (and Crake Cakes Later) by Elizabeth Fitzgerald Howard and illustrated by James Ransome. |

Sunday afternoons are Sarah and Susan's favorite time of the week. That's when they visit Great-great-aunt Flossie--and hear her stories about days of long ago, when she was young. (Mrs. Fazzino and Mrs. Dowd read the parts of Sarah and Susan.)
|
At Great-great-aunt Flossie's home we sip our tea and eat our cookies, and then Aunt Flossie (played by Mrs. Mahoney) lets us look in her hatboxes. |

We pick out hats and try them on. Aunt Flossie says the hats are her memories, and each hat has its story. |
